I'm DLing a torrent and it say's "connection error , connectionexception connection refused" , but the file is still being DLed and ULed http://img7.imagevenue.com/loc418/th_37342_Screenshot1_1_122_418lo.jpg (http://img7.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=37342_Screenshot1_1_122_418lo.jpg) .

Should I dump the torrent ? Gonna take 5 hrs. + to complete , don't wanna be pissed at the end.

Another question , when I DL say 5 to 10 torrents , my machine slow's down and my DL manager slow's down to sometime's dialup levels when I try to DL other files while using Azureus to DL torrents ( I have 2 512 memory sticks , maximum allowed ) .

Is this normal with other bit-torrent clients ? Is it because Azureus is Java based ? TIA ( I'm on a cable isp 6 + mbs , Well I should be , but not consistently ).......

Any chance of some more info like OS + Service Packs, CPU, etc.

I've noticed with Windows XP, that once you install SP2 it limits the number of TCP connections to 10 which can potentially slow down your downloads since it limits the number of connections you can establish.

So any extra info will make it easier for us to help you }; )

Mac OS 10.4.8 , service packs ? CPU = 512kb per cache , CPU speed 1.67 GHz, Power Mac 6.4 , Firewire Bus up to 400 MB per sec , I read that off system profiler , hope that helps , I think I have unlimited port connections TCP and UDP , whatever that means ?

have you adjusted your max upload speed to 80% of your potential?

you need to save some upload bandwidth for overhead. that can kill your download speed. i'm not sure if that's what your main problem is, but it will definitely help.

I'll try that , thx , I read on the Azureus help page that the faster you UL the faster you DL , they lied ? hahaha........

Well that goes up to a certain limit.

Lets say you upload at 5kbps, then then most you can download is 20kpbs.

However if you increase your upload speed to say 30kpbs, then your download speed increases exponentially increases.

As for me, since my upload is at 30kbps i can set my download at 2Mbps without penalties }; )

Ya i was having the same problem when i first started with azureus but once you limit your download speeds to something similiar to you upload speed you will pick up some speed. I know its really annoying because you just want to get everything really fast.
Limit the amount of connections to your torrents if you are seeding that will help to.

Well since this thread is designated to torrents and stuff. I was wondering on the route to take if i am running thru 2 routers.
ex: internet gets routed into three rooms in my house so i have a router downstairs were the main internet comes and then it goes into my airport express base station and that is how i get the internet.

But now my question is how the hell to i port forward thru the two routers. Do i use static ip? do i set up my airport base station as just a wireless piont? Or what? cus it works when i am plugged straight into the one router downstairs and that is forwarded perfectly and i don't get a NAT error but once i use the wireless connection i get a NAT error right away. If you guys know anything about this let me know cuz the internet doesn't help at all right now. Especially not Azureuses website.

i can't help you stud as i was never even able to figure out how to piggyback routers in the first place. it gets pretty complicated :dunno:
