WWE? BRINGS ECW? TO SCI FI CHANNEL

New York, N.Y., May 25, 2006 - SCI FI Channel announced that World Wrestling Entertainment?, the producer of the No. 1 weekly basic cable TV series, ?Monday Night RAW ?on USA Network, will debut a summer series on Tuesday, June 13, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling?) will be an alternative brand of wrestling suited to fit the SCI FI Channel?s commitment to fuel the imagination.

"Research tells us that there's a healthy appetite for wrestling among SCI FI viewers," said Bonnie Hammer, President, USA and SCI FI Channel. "With ECW, we're able to deliver to those fans unique action with a twist that's perfect for SCI FI."

?ECW on SCI FI will push the boundaries of sports entertainment in new and unexpected ways,? said Vince McMahon, Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Fuck ECW. Isnt all their matches just hardcore cause thats pretty stupid. At least the WWE has a variety of different matches. I'll check this shit out tonight only cause they intertwined it with the WWE shows, otherwise i wouldnt bother. That Sandman guy needs to stop bashing beer cans against his head that shit is so lame now doesnt impress me.

Thats what sucks about Smackdown. Undertaker hasnt been on SD for a few months, he only shows up at the PPV's lately.

In Australia, our cable tv provider hasn't made any statements about showing ECW. :(

Anyone watch ECW One Night Stand II? I downloaded two of the matches, Rey vs Sabu and Cena vs RVD.

Also, Cena took all the crap from the crowd pretty well but I still wanted RVD to win.

I know what you mean. Back in eighties, match ups like Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Macho Man and Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant or The Animal was great fun. However, I coudn't care less about wrestling nowdays. :004:

I heard that the first show didn't do too well. It's cool your fiance digs wrestling. I'm big into it too. I even work for a local wrestling promotion.

Anyway, it just seems to WWE driven and it's not the old ECW I watched at 2 o'clock in the morning on Saturdays in high school. :) That's the ECW I loved.

It's not all hardcore wrestling either. They have hardcore wrestlers, but there's a different between hardcore and garbage wrestling. Hardcore offers matches with weapons and shit like that, but it also has wrestlers who don't put on 5-10 minute matches (like WWE). They wrestle longer and don't put a limit on what they'll do in the ring. Garbage is just weapons, blood, and sex. There's really nothing to it.

I loved the old ECW, not the new one so much. TNA for me. :004:

Watched that ECW show finally later last night and this shit sucked big balls. There is no point of watching this. Some guy can just come in the ring with a weapon and its over in 20 seconds. Just like luggy said the only actual wrestling was from Angle and that match sucked also. dmavs was right this show is a joke. Its a good thing i got a DVR and can fast foward through most of this bullshit. Sorry kevdude but i dont like TNA either. These other wrestling shows that are on besides the WWE's are filled with wrestlers that were once with the WWE or couldnt make it. ECW cracks me up if they didnt suck so bad then none of there so called stars would of ever left in the first place. WWE means big time. Not ECW (Extemely Crappy Wrestling), props to Jerry Lawler for that one.

The show has an initial order of 12 weeks. The 2.8 rating is actually more than what Smackdown averages, but arguably because of the crossover with popular RAW wrestlers. ECW by itself is a poor joke, many of its 'talent' were complete losers on RAW (like Justin Credible, Steve Richards, Tommy Dreamer).

I prefer RAW the most, although I'm trying to figure out what's so unbeatable about Umaga, as this was formerly Jamal from 3 Minute Warning (who wasn't anywhere near as interesting).

I only started watching wrestling with my fiance, so that's what you guys consider soap opera for men hmmm? :004:

The rating was also higher than SmackDowns cause this was ECW's big comeback show and everybody that pretty much watches WWE wanted to see how this show was gonna be especially with WWE superstars crossing over like ya pointd out. Thats the main reason why i'll pay attention to ECW cause its intertwined with the WWE now. Thats the main point with bringing WWE guys over which i think sucks.

I live in Holland and between 23:00 and 24:00 TNT movie networks took over from cartoon network...The first couple of shows were called WCW Nitro...Cartoon network was on the whole day and around 20:00 TNT classic movies took over...
