Pistons v Pacers. Now Denver v New York. Is the league being too harsh or too lenient? Are the fines big enough? Melo got 15 games for taking a swing and connecting where he could have just walked away. Jermaine O'Neal got like 30 games for striking a fan who had stepped onto the court and was charging him. How do they fine and suspend these guys? Artest attacked out of provocation. Carmelo Anthony made the first move. He should be on the receiving end of a huge fine, yet as an NBA poster boy and upcoming superstar, he's given 15 games. How much of a joke is the game I used to love?
Interesting ESPN article here (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=bucherfightview)

He probably got that because he only went after a player.
I expected he wouldn't get much because he's part of the Triforce.

Here's the breakdown: Carmelo got 10 games for the fight, and 5 games for running! :D Considering he bitch slapped a player, then moonwalked 94 ft backwards away from the fray, it was enough! Peer pressure is punshment enough in this league. What a punk azz move! It was just a fight as a result of an old school "not in our gym" takedown over an aledged slight of running up the score. Fine the players a few $$$$ and move on. But...the NBA is desparately trying to change it's image to appease it's corporate and stadium fan base, so a heavy handed approach was necessary to show everyone who is in charge. Perception is EVERYTHING!
