This film is one ass-kicking cinematic gem, that for whatever reason, never made it to the mainstream.
To sum it up, a pair of Irish-American brothers get on the wrong side of the law when they cross some Russian mobsters. After their killing of a couple 'Redfellas' meets with not-so-subtle public support, they take it as a sign from God that there are destined to clean up the streets and dole out justice the old-fashioned way....with hot lead!!!

The Boondock Saints
Two Irish brothers accidentally killed mafia thugs. They turned themselves in and were released as heroes. They then see it as a calling by God and started knocking off mafia gang members one by one. Willem Dafoe plays the detective trying to figure out the killings, but the closer he was to catching the Irish brothers, the more he thinks the brothers are doing the right thing.

This was a top-notch film, loaded with snappy dialog, quirky characters, and unapologetic vengeful bloodshed.
Action in the tradition of 'Dirty Harry' and 'Death Wish'..Witty, often-hilarious situations reminiscent of a Quentin Tarentino film.
Because the (anti)heroes are Irish and Catholic, there are lots of references in old Gaelic and Latin.
In Latin, your will hear repeatedly....
In nominee Paris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti
In English
"In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit "
Same thing in Gaelic...
In ainm an Athar, agus a Mhic, agus an Spioraid Naomh
You'll also hear cool-ass litanies repeated throughout the film, the Brothers Micmacs are laying holy whoop-ass on the scum of the earth...
And shepherds we shall be,
for thee my lord for thee.
Power hath descended forth from thy hand
so our feet may swiftly carry out thy command.
And we shall flow a river forth to thee
and teeming with souls shall it ever be.
