HotBody - Disappearing Lingerie Contest [Angel Veil Brook Bradford].wmv -- 8.6 MB
HotBody - Wild Secretaries Exposed [18 Ivonna Monique Alexander].wmv -- 6.5 MB

RAR: http://www.keepmyfile.com/download/ae5427820669
ZIP http://www.keepmyfile.com/download/f05913822471

I'm interested in who can play these and who can't, and with what player(s).
(hint: Windows Media Player for Macintosh sucks-ass)

Neither worked for me, using Windows Media Player 11 Beta

They both asked for a liscense to play them. It gave me a link to get it and the site didn't work.

Doomfury & KanMan,
What link did it give you? A Hotbody link? A Microsoft link? The site was malfunctioning, or you just didn't have the info to make it cough up a lisence?
Did it ask for a user/pass?

Durcam,
I RAR'ed those suckers with RarMe 0.4. I tested it before uploading -- UnRarX extracted that Rar no problem. I've never heard of simplyrar. StuffIt doesn't do RARs AFAIK.

Checkitnow, there's a ZIP a made Mac-style with the right-click archive thing. I'm particularly interested in how your souped Mac can tackle these. Probably get the same thing I did. Unless your plugged-in QuickTime handles them differently.

I was able to extract the rar when you first uploaded it. I have Wmv's to play in QT, But it says there is an error with the file not sure if thats what is supposed to happen, but thats what i get.

I have Panther 10.3.9. When it comes to WMVs, I first try them in VLC.
VLC either plays it, or displays this error window:
http://img15.imgspot.com/u/06/170/03/pic0021150789874.jpg
..which says exactly what it means,- I don't have the right flavor of WMV codec.
That would be because its a relatively newer WMV.

Plan B is to actually try to open an ornery WMV in *gulp* Windoze Media Player Muahahahahhahhh!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Help me!

Okay, histrionics aside,
Windows Media Player either plays ornery WMV, or it causes my browser to pop open a microsoft.com page, usually (?) this one:

That's the end-of-the-line for my method.

Weird, I went to hotbody and d/l the Brook Bradford video myself and it's 4.72 MB and works perfectly fine. I then d/l the Monique video and its 5.5 MB. They both dont ask for the liscense either. I have uploaded them for you. Let me know if they work. :)

I manually saved the streaming videos.. where did you d/l the originals from?

I feel like a shithead. I should have exclaimed from the start I got those two off edonkey, which probably explains a lot. I usually filter out WMVs --- the ones on p2p never seem to play.

My broadband cut out mid-way thru the download of your Monique Alexander, KanMan, but the partial file opened fine -- in VLC even, no WMP necessary there. (The Brook Bradford link didn't have a download, it said invalid ID code.)

Now that I know the originals were never buggered around with regarding the MS DRM stuff, I'm wondering what is up with those larger versions. Like I said, I normally ignore WMV, but accidentally clicked on those two for download since they were small. Since I had them, I thought I may as well make a project out of it and see if I or anybody could get them to play.

That shit may have some viral stuff. Windows users look out, I think y'all should delete them ASAP, my bad if you got slimed :o I never think about malware anymore now that I'm a Mac user.

I just took another look at that screenshot of Doomfury's. I see "www.mon-telechargement.biz". WTF is that? I did a SmartWhoIs on them - location is Paris, France.

Went to the site and they look a big porn re-treader, available in 4 different languages. I clicked on a 'free access' link and got this page:

I would do that email reg thing just for the hell of it -- even tho I know a bait-and-switch arrangement is in the brewing -- but I'm out of playtime tonite. :(

They probably do have viral things in them, most likely they were just created for that reason and not for the video viewing purpose. It's best to get them from the actual site that is trusted than eDonkey where who knows what the hell you could be downloading.

Wait.. can you be more specific.. which two worked for you? The ones in the RAR I put up in post #1, or KanMan's up there ^

I could only download one of KanMans. If you got file-shared versions I uploaded to play, you're the only one so far. If that's the case, then with what software did you play them in?

Do you need me to re-up those for you or were you just checking things out?

Ah thx but no need KanMan,.. didn't want those two specifically, just checking things out WMV-wise. Anybody else able to play those??

aren't these DRM protected?

Junkboxy
June 24th, 2006, 04:11 AM
..
They seem to have been "DRM'd" by an entity other than HotBody :039: (see above). HotBody doesn't DRM their videos ( I didn't know that previously). I originally wondered how other people's computers would handle these. I have a Mac, and MS doesn't keep up WMP for the Mac (version 9). Upon opening, I get sent to a MS webpage telling me to upgrade WMP to a version with such-n-such-more-current DRM version.

Well, I can't -- i already have the highest version available for my computer.

Thx dude that sounds like a way to get away from slow clunky Windows Media Player but I'm gonna put the WMV stuff on the back burner. I don't have my MOV act together yet. I started another Support thread because of that. I guess I'm finished with these wmv's unless someone comes along to say they cracked the French bolted-on DRM. No more filesharin wmvs.
