I've been using Limewire for filesharig, but lately, I've been getting a steady stream of 'Internal Error' messages that interrupt my use. Not to mention the fact that the incessant pop-ups for the messages lock up my machine.
It keeps saying things like 'Directory not Listed, BLacklisted IP address for user'.
Any way to stop them from coming up?

I think I fixed it. There's a menu that let me shut off the alerts.
This alert system never seemed to benefit the operator of the program at all. Sedning notices to the Limewire server didn't help me DL, so I shut it off.
My DL time was much better, and without the probs listed above.

BigDaddy, are you using PC/Mac/Linux?
AFAIK there is still a LimeWire variant known as FrostWire available. Kind of a rebel branch that split off because LimeWire was getting to conformist. But FrostWire never seemed hookup as good as old Limewire, if I remember. And newer LimeWire didn't hookup as well as old Limewire either, for that matter.
You used to be able to rely on Limewire to reliably pull in a file that it could found. But when that reliability factor went downhill, I said "the hell with it" and all it's Java overhead --- which really slowed down my system --- so it was only worth it when it was actually pulling in a file.
xDonkey seemed good at first, but it won't save my completed downloads. So I've sworn off P2P applications until I get an Intel-based Leopard system (mac user).
So are you now getting acceptable results with searching and retrieving on Limewire now?

It's doing much better now. I dl'd an entire film in two evenings, with no interruptions.
Very satisfactory performance.
