I might actually see that one in the actual movie theater. It's good for a non-weenie, dude-kicking-bad-guy-ass movie to come out every now and then. ;)

Not sure if you can get better than the original Die Hard, but I will definitely check this one out. I saw the trailer last week when I went to see Shooter and the whole audience was cheering.

and the whole audience was cheering.
Hell yeah. That's because, I think, there is a dearth of of leading dudes out there who can carry off the RBAM-kicking-ass movie. Schwarzenegger is now in politics; Stallone is concentrating on TV development; Gibson has been concentrating on behind-the-camera lately/gotten into hot water recently. Seagal? Where is he? On a mountaintop in Tibet somewhere? Norris has retired into selling
those sliding workout contraptions. Has anybody taken the torch from that generation? Clooney and Wahlberg?

If Bruce pulls this off, and the movie goes over well, then he can offer a big 'fuck you' to all the other action stars who were running things back in the late 80s when the first Die Hard came out.
Seagal and Van Damme have tanked. Stallone and Schwarzenegger petered out, and are working on other things. Dolph Lundgren and Chuck Norris, and all these other cats are ...I dunno. WTF are they?
But Bruce remains!
Bruce Almighty!!!!!!
Oh yeah, and he had a license to fuck and inseminate Demi Moore for quite a few years!
I'd love to see this film.

Live Free Or Die Hard is rated R after all!!!
But only on DVD.
Many movies get an 'unrated' version on DVD nowadays, and the extra material usually ends up being character development. But in the case of Live Free or Die Hard, the DVD will at least partially deliver the film we wanted to see in the first place.
FDM has learned that FOX has already commissioned visual effects house Digital Dimension (who also worked on the film for theatrical release) to add digitally add blood into the bloodless action scenes we (or at least, I) will see in theaters when the movie is released on June 27th. Whether the profanity (test screenings have pointed out some obvious dubbing in a few scenes) will be restored remains unknown, but rest assured, those of you who like their Die Hard movies to be bloody (you know, like the first three, the ones we loved so much to want a fourth one in the first place?) might want to wait for DVD.
Ordinarily I abhor the "Wait for DVD" mentality as I truly love the theatergoing experience, but I will make a special exception in this case and actually ENCOURAGE it, as a means of revenge for fucking with my beloved franchise. They'll get my money (as will any BW film: I paid to see Whole Ten Yards, I'll certainly pay to see this) but unless you're a similarly obsessive compulsive schmuck like me, feel free to wait.
Yippie Ki Yay, FOX!

I'm gonna catch this one in the theater in 07/04. Needs to be seen on a proper bigscreen, even though the TS that is out there looks pretty good.

The movie is great. It has managed to retain the essence of the earlier Die Hards. Action packed!

Before I saw this movie I thought "Die Hard is an amazing trilogy and another Die Hard after all these years can not really change that".
Now I must admit Die Hard is actually an amazing tetralogy!

great flick. Much better than the 3rd one in the series. Not a trilogy anymore. Is it called a quadogy?
