I'm currently using free AVG for a couple of years now. Just wanted to know what the members and the moderators are using for their pc and networks.

I've been using avast! for some time. Works just fine for me! It's also a free program!

NOD32. It's free (with a hack), works perfectly and doesn't require a lot of memory.

I used NAV Corp for a few years until I got sick and tired of it eating memory. I've been using NOD32 for a few months - nice and easy on the resources + lots of updates :D

nortons antivirus has been pretty solid for me for the last couple of years. 5-10 years ago maybe not, but now it's been smooth.

I dunno it kept finding a "virus" but then every time I tried to delete it it would tell me it couldn't and it bogged down my system like a mofo. So haven't bothered with it since.

yeah that sounds like my experience with Norton... plus the fact that it ate memory like a fat kid eats cake. I finally had enough and went in a different direction and have been running leaner and meaner (resources-wise) ever since :D

some virus or adware stay in the memory, so you need to run ad-aware and spybot (both free) and reboot in safe mode and run spybot again. this usually takes care of any problems.
cwshredder is the third must have..but I am sure it's been covered in these forums somewhere.

Yeah, that would have been funnier a week ago when this thread was originally posted, but I was out of town. Gimme a break, minus the Nell Carter:006:

Got it for free from my job.

I also got a registered copy of Office Enterprise 2007 for only $22 direct from MS.
