fucking AAA girl on the phone was funny; in brief...

ME: yea, i need my car towed to a shop nearby.
AAA: why?
ME: got a flat.
AAA: do you have a spare?
ME: sure do.
AAA: is it possible for you to change to your spare yourself and drive to the shop?
ME: sure is, but i'm not paying my yearly dues to AAA for that shit.
AAA: where are you located?

that was some funny shit.

now that i sit here and think back about how this morning went, i just gotta laugh it off as i share it with you. what a life i have dealing with people. at the very least, i have someone to go home to everynight that loves me no matter what. it somehow makes things a whole lot better.

i drive an old hand-me-down from my grandmother; too embarassed to say. it's crazy, i know... the tires were only $46/each, but i live in CA so check this out;
(4) P205/70R-14 BLK $46.00 $184.00
(4) CA Environmental Fee State Required $1.75 $7.00
(4) CA Tire Disposal Fee $2.00 $8.00
(4) Valve Stems, Lifetime Rotations FREE
(4) Installation & Lifetime Computer Spin Balancing $12.00 $48.00 (Mandatory BS charge they add-on to rape the customer!)
(4) Certificates for Free Replacement $7.00 $28.00
Subtotal $275.00
CA Tax $15.84
Total "Out the Door" Price $290.84fucking crazy fees left and right. the certificates are a great deal in my area cause the roads to my work are shit. i get an average two flats per year due to potholes or some fucking nails or some other damn thing that my tax dollars never seem to be able to take care of. for the extra $7/tire, they'll replace the whole thing for three years if they can't fix it. sometimes they're able to plug the leaks, but i had a couple time where the steel belts would punch through and they'd have to replace it.

damn that sucks - sounds like a bad day -just aswell you have gotten your degree in communication skills from GutterTech ;)
but even in Ireland 5 new tyres - the cheapest of cheap will still cost me more than $300 for the set - and my Integra takes better than that - my last set put me back almost $1000 :( and my car is 7 years old

Swann and T have their ups and downs, but through thick and thin they were made for each other :)

One thing to ad to today's dealings...You have to love talking to the clerk over the phone at the car dealership who says that I will be "in and out in 45 minutes tops" to find out that one thing or another comes up and I end up waiting for over an hour and a half in a creapy neighborhood with strangers stairing at me. Thankfully, T spent most of the time talking to me on my phone, so at least I felt somewhat safe.

T, at least you don't get tires every 13 seconds due to the fact that the damn rubber on heat rated tires are about as strong as winding rubber bands together. Case in point, Falken Z rated tires run about 150 each for my car (that's very much discounted), and I got a set of 2 for the rear, because I tend to break traction in the rear all the time for some odd reason on these oh-so-slippery roads... :D

Bad news, is they wore out BEFORE the 2 front tires that had half traction did. It's hard to find decent temp rated tires that are on the cheap. I have to admit though, the "required fees" they charge you there is quite simply an ass raping without dinner and/or KY or a very simple reach-around. At least they didnt charge you 2 bucks per valve stem though, like they do here. There's always a way for them to take your money...

aw man, yeah a flat tire sucks.
my one and only experience, i was turning into some parking lot in the middle of a blizzard, it was in december and it was about minus -38, average temp for that time of year in Canada. and my tire blows up, and I dont have any CAA(thats what they call it here) so yeah i was out there putting on the spare, and i was just making a quick trip out so i didnt bring my jacket i had on a sweater, yeah that totally doesnt protect you from the great north winds. anyways it kinda sucked ass, but whatever i always keep my jacket in my car from then on. and then the next morning went and bought a new tire, only one and that came to 110 bucks. and that was the cheapest winter tire i could get. my cars only 3 years old though, and it was a winter tire.
