1st- is there a way to link two intel quad core processors to run as one.
2nd- what motherboard would i need to get to handle it.
3rd- how could you overclock these processors
4th- in your opinion which is the best graphics cards. there's so many to choose from. and the price:013:

thanks

for what purposes are you wanting this computer for? that will greatly determine my choice setups; for example... a gaming rig, i would suggest the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro or eVGA e-GeForce 7800GT running between $300-$400 respectively, but totally unnecessary for a business app rig.

Hmm not sure if its worth trying to gear up to link two quad cores.... the oct core should be out soon. If you really want to speed things up... raid a couple raptors but don't use a software raid... get a pc card. It will allow your core to access your OS much more quick and efficient. Of course I believe its a raid 0 which means that if one drive dies... the computer crashes...unlike other raids that work in redundance. These will work in tandem allowing your computer to run the OS off both drives..... sharing the work. That said..anything important...keep it off the raid.

the computer will be use for intensive modeling and 3d rendering and the speed to do mathematical computations rather quickly. I'm also planning to do, dvd ripping and alot of video conversion. which brings me to another question. what is a good HD tuner card, because there are a lot of tv programs i want to get and to convert the older vhs tapes i have. i also would like a dual monitor hookup. this will be a heavy power user setup.

i didn't know about the 8 core chip coming out. I'll have to read more about it. and i was leaning towards the raid 0. i would hook a a couple of raptors for the conversions, etc. and a few 750 gb for storage, archiving, etc.

Another thought for you ...... when it comes to mother boards.... One of my favorite overclock boards is the gygabit DS3... cheap and easy... I do alot of photowork with raw files....15 to 20MB each.... and if I do stitch work...40-50 ea... I am running an E6600 duo 2 (2.4 gh) up at around 3.4 stable. I also have 4gig matched ram but what I love most is my case.

thermaltake mozart.... really big case... but incredible room and airflow. Only drawback.... I needed longer than standard cables..18"-24"

good luck!!
