I have seen several members complaing about the limit at rapidshare. Most of you proably know this, but if you are like me on a DSL connection, an easy way around this is but just shutting off your modem for about 30 sec and then restarting it. This is kind of a pain because you have to wait for your modem to reset, but when your modem restarts, it will assign a new ip address. You can then reconnect to rapidshare and download w/ the limit restrictions gone. One you reach the limit restrictions again, just follow the same proceedure. And wala, you can continue downloading.

Not sure if this will work w/cable connections or if is true w/all DSL connections, but it works great for mine.

With cable i think you keep the same IP, Ive tried multiple times before. Even using command prompt to flush the isp doesnt help it just reassigns the same ip.

slower for dsl - works
faster for cable - doesnt work

I think this is a clever but simple peice of programming where the guy has a RS account and uses that to access the real download url and give it to us folks.

Maybe a small python script using the clientform module ought to do the job.

I bet we could be enterprising and do the same using our passes too. Any ideas and volunteers as I am short on time at the moment.

The world is filled with dogooders....we all know that...when unknown persons report my postings and the rapidshare admin deletes them ..I try to upload again...but they do not appear after the DL is complete....I have to assume my reposting of the same file is now somehow 'blocked' by some tag on the reupload....

Has anyone else encountered this...and is it possible to do it...WITHOUT posting to a different service.....

I`m sure I can recall some prog (or a website perhaps?) that could search RS for files (Vids, pics, music, whatever) for you using key words you`d obviously typed in.

Just one more hint: here (http://newzfind.com/) you find mostly RS + RC links.

A bunch of shit and good stuff and .. ahh .. everything.
But be warned: this could blast your harddrive ... :065:

For searching more specifically add the following for example:
.../search/?ff=search&subject=shower
http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/duschsmilie_2.gif

or like that:
.../search/?ff=search&subject=shower+wet
http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/badewanne_2_2.gif

and a last variant:
.../search/?ff=search&subject="Jordan Capri"
http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/dancing_geek.gif

Hope this helps and you will not get lost :006:

It would appear that Rapidshare has once again modified itself to render 3rd party applications ineffective at downloading files off their servers.

I was using RapGet Ver 1.26 to download rapidshare files however ever since the change this is no longer working.

Can anyone recommend a new application that works with the new rapidshare system?

And perhaps we can keep updating this thread with the latest applications that work with rapidshare.

Thanx }; )

Heres two handy tools:

For uploads:

http://rapidshare.com/en/rapiduploader.html

Link Checker:

http://rapidshare.com/en/checkfiles.html

They haven't got a tool for downloading as of yet, but I have heard Flashget works like a charm, although I'll wait till Rapidshare can modify the script on Rapidget so its compatible with .com.

I tried your app link85, its works with the new rapidshare system, however it doesnt automate all the downloads.

It appears that if the file is too big then it will prompt you to look at an image and enter the download code manually.

Anyone know of any apps which can download from rapidshare without the need for any input save for entering the download link?

Much appreciated }; )

I can bypass the awful 180+ minutes between downloads since my IP is dynamic, so all I do is shut off the browser and modem for a few seconds, then reconnect, go to the rapidshare url and start downloading again.

The fucking bummer is, sometimes a download crashes and if I'm nowhere near the pc, it stays that way till I come back and have to start over since the download doesn't continue from where it left off. This is annoying when the file is 100mb in size and the crash happens at 75mb.

Is there a program that retains what is downloaded and can continue from where it left off?

just a heads up:
to change your IP you dont have to always uninstall the modem and set it up again, just open the command prompt and type:
ipconfig /flushdns
--enter
ipconfig /release
--enter
ipconfig /renew
--enter

after this just make sure the cookie from rapidshare is deleted before trying again.

RAZORMAID
August 13th, 2007, 07:56 PM
I don't actually uninstall the modem, I just close the browser, turn off the modem for a few seconds then switch it back on. Entire process takes 7-8 seconds.

I download from megaerotic using Flashget...so far, so good, same process bypasses any limits there.

Yep, plus you have the advantage of using download managers and multiple simultaneous downloads. Considering the WEALTH of quality material available on RS (software and complete movies), that fee is negligible.

Same as Swann: Sometimes files are mis-extensioned before uploading.

Get FileX (MU (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/18273/filex);VT (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26931&vid=207894)) dude. You just drag the mystery file's icon onto FileX, and it tells you what kind of file it really is.

Swann
October 6th, 2007, 04:28 PM
I'm not a Mac user so I can't speak to this, however.......
Does this guy at macupdate tell it straight or not?
Oh come on!

I go to Terminal.app and type "file" and the name of my file - and this app is supposed to make it easier?

HOWWWWW? (Version 1.0)

durcam
October 6th, 2007, 04:55 PM
Most Mac users avoid the terminal like the plague :) , it's great , but a pain in the ass , that's why there are so many throw away apps for Macs that you use only once and never see again , when you could just use the Terminal , but thx......

Junkboxy
October 6th, 2007, 05:35 PM
..yeah it's easier. You put FileX in the dock. Any file - on the Desktop or in a Finder window - you just drag-n-drop onto the FileX dock icon; program doesn't need to be already open. It opens up a window in a couple seconds saying "PDF document, version 1.3" or whatever..
http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/9c39e9515d.jpg (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/)

Its drag-n-drop versus opening the Terminal and typing a long-ass sentence.

Hello all! I just recently upgraded my internet connection from DSL to "High-Speed" and it's been working well. My question is about d/ling links from the RapidShare & MegaUpload filehosts. Speed tests show that I am able to get a 6MBPS d/l speed, and while I do get close to full d/l speed using MegaUpload (733kbps) I only get half the speed when d/ling any Rapid links. My PC will let me d/l 2 Rapid links simultaneously (at around 300kbps each) which is ok, but is there a way to get the Rapid links to d/l at full speed like the MegaUpload ones? I've seen a few "download accelerators" on a google search, but was wondering if any of you here currently use one or could recommend one that is easy & safe to use. Thanks! :D

Take this little App to keep your Links alive:

http://rapidshare.com/files/68997725/LinkAlive-v2.01.hix.rar

Sadly, it is in German

Just paste your Account Data on top

copy the links, then click on "Links aus der Zwischenablage einfügen", then "Dateien anladen beginnen"

It will only load 1 KB of each file and the File will get the current date.

Very Traffic friendly

60 second wait time (plus 15 minute wait time between downloads) is simply too much

I think the amount for rapidshare account is a great deal especially if you like to download tons of stuff. Screw the headache and just pay up.

Best way to use rapidshare is to pony up the money and get a premium account....if you actually upload pics/vids/whatever you can generate enough points to earn a free month on a consistent basis. It's definitely worth the money.

A question. If you buy a premium account, you give away your data. Can someone/ a company ( for copyright reasons ) come after you threw this hole in security. With a valet they could get all the information they need and don´t have to go over the hard way finding out over your ip-adress???????

I've been using jDownloader (http://jdownloader.org) for a while now, and it's effing awesome!

It'll queue up your downloads from more download services than I can count, and automatically download them. It'll also auto-extract archives. It's an amazing program.

And I have no connection with jDownloader other than I'm a highly satisfied user of their free program.

I have to agree with the crowd of folks making the argument that paying for the service is the best way to go. Are you really gonna miss the 50 cents/day?

I wonder if the new tactic of "wait 2 minutes, you cheap bastidge" is going to drive traffic to competitors. I don't mind the 15 minute delay for the few times I use it, but this is getting unfriendly IMO.

I'm another one who got tired with trying to second-guess RapidShare methods and find tricks and workarounds.

Splashed out on a subscription after much deliberation and never regretted it. Given the sheer amount of stuff on there and how quickly it can be obtained it can pay for itself pretty quickly.
